We take off from Sarangkot and thermal above the valley, soar along pristine ridges, fly over villages and often hear shouts from below as people stare with wonder at these gliders circling above them. We end the flight with a glide over the lake, and return via the company van to our main office in Lakeside. Weather permitting the Cloud Buster flight last from 20 – 30 minutes.
We offer two start times for our cloud buster flight. The first flight of the day commences with pickup from your hotel at 9am. Our private Van will drive to our takeoff site at Sarangkot, high on Sarangkot mountain (1600m ASL). After landing our Van will return you back to your hotel. The full duration from hotel to hotel is normally around 2 hours. The second flight of the day is as above with hotel pickup at 11am. Timings can change depending on weather, any changes will be communicated at the start of each flying day. Please wear suitable foot wear {hiking boots, running shoes, sun glasses) a little running may be required for a safe take off.
Once you decided to fly Cross-country flight where pilots can glide from one thermal to the next to go from one place to another crossing the lake, valley or flying along the Sarangkot Mountain. Having gained altitude in a thermal, a pilot glides down to the next available thermal. Cloudbase in Pokhara varies from season but average is 2500 m above sea level.
Cross-country flying is an outstanding adventure and in an hour flight we can fly about 30 kilometers to the Green wall & back or cruise along Sarangkot Mountain flying to ToriPani & back to the scenery of Pokhara city, Fewa Lake and World Peace Stupa above Pokhara, depends upon the weather condition of that day. It generally lasts for 45_60 minutes.
